About Fanlistings

A fanlisting is simply an online list of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are); they are just a place where you can sign up with other fans.

This particular fanlisting is for for the kick ass heroes of Metal Gear Solid, Hal "Otacon" Emmerich and Solid Snake (Dave). It is the only fanlisting for this relationship that is approved and listed (under the Games category) by The Fanlistings Network.

Why A Listing For Them?

Because they make a fantastic team! Of course, they are completely different. Hal doesn't like violence, and is quite the nerd who loves his Japanese Anime, Snake, on the other hand, is the powerhouse behind the team. Those are the reasons I love it! They're buddies! -- previous owner Sarah

Why "Philanthropy"?

The really obvious title. I wanted something else, the other title I had in mind had a more humourous tone to it. Now, I myself don't like my fanlistings to have funny titles, so I went with the obvious title. Philanthropy currently has two members... Otacon and Snake. Maybe Meryl Silverburgh, I don't know... but whatever. Otacon and Snake are its founders. -- previous owner Sarah

Huh?

Obviously you haven't paid attention to the games, so I'll explain: After the Shadow Moses incident, Solid Snake and Doctor Hal Emmerich started a new organization with the main purpose of "The eradication of Metal Gear". Although the organization isn't an official military organization, it is officially recognized by the U.N. Due to this, Snake and Otacon have to work in the dark and off of their own budget. Hopefully they're still Philanthropy in future games... -- previous owner Sarah
